Framework for Squads

Aragon was chosen as the DAO framework for squads for several reasons. We believe that Aragon has the best user experience compared to other frameworks. This is important as many data scientists will be new to DAOs. Aragon is robust and flexible which allows data science squads to bootstrap quickly and utilise it for multiple uses cases. Aragon comes with a governance layer through voting as well as a shared treasury. They can also execute on behalf of the DAO using the Agent feature.

Treasury Management

Gnosis Safe and Snapshot were chosen as they are compatible with the Zodiac library. Zodiac library allows for customisation which might be needed in the future. Gnosis is also a well-audited product.

Knowledge Management

Notion is being used as the place to store all the information in a structured way. This product was chosen as many people are familiar with it. Docusaurus will be used to create the Algovera handbook which will allow new people to navigate activities of Algovera.

Contribution and Reputation

SourceCred is being used to capture the value provided by community members on Discord and Github. Gitcoin is being used to upload bounties.

Governance

Our strategy is to progressively decentralise the governance of Algovera. For decisions that require votes from the community, we will be using Snapshot.

Compensation

For active contributors to Algovera we are using Coordinape to get a peer-based subjective assessment of contribution then transfer compensation using Disperse.

Grants that are given to squads will use a smart invoice product developed by Raid Guild to disperse the funds. 50% will be transferred up front and the rest upon completion of deliverables.

Discussion

Discord is being used for informal discussion and conversations. Discourse will be used for more formal discussion. Project proposals will be posted on Discourse.
