Howdy Algoverians👋,

We held our weekly Town Hall on Tuesday instead of the usual Monday. Monday was Valentine’s Day and we hope you spent time with your loved ones. If you missed the Town Hall you can check out the recording here.

Aesthetic Upgrades 🎨

We have been working on making the user experience of interacting with Algovera as pleasant as possible. Here are some of the design work we have done in the past week.

Update on Squad Funding 💲

We have collected the details to spin up a DAO for most Squads, if you haven't done so already please get in touch with us or fill in this form.

We ran into an issue with our plan and we are working on solving it. We decided to summon the DAO on Polygon to save on gas fees and we thought it was best to transfer the funds primarily in a stablecoin (USDC) to avoid volatility risk. However, USDC does not show up on the UI for the Aragon Client. We have been in touch with the Aragon team to solve the issue and they have notified their developers. We are looking into an alternative solution in the meantime. We aim to fund all teams before Sun (20th).

Introducing Lynx Hackathon 🧠

We are excited to announce that we are partnering with Lynx to run a hackathon in March. The hackathon is aimed at anyone interested in using data science, data analysis, data engineering, and AI to analyse biometric data. We will be analyzing data collected from an EEG device. More Information can be found here.

Documentation 📃

We have completed the first version of Track documentation. Check out the different paths you can follow in Algovera at https://docs.algovera.ai/docs/Tracks/Introduction

We will be uploading short video explanations of tracks soon.

EthDenver 🎉

EthDenver is happening and we have major FOMO. Some of our community members got to catch up IRL.

Interesting Conversation 📨

An interesting conversation is taking place on Discord around the message that @mnkyntigr(UTC-5) posted here. The message shares a blog by David "DSHR" Rosenthal, a distinguished technologist whose past achievements include helping to develop X11 and the core technologies for Nvidia. https://blog.dshr.org/2022/02/ee380-talk.html . A good synthesis of the blog is given by Cory Doctorow here.
